Austin Render is co-founder of the Bourbon Country Burn - a world-class, three day bike tour and bourbon festival in central Kentucky. The event showcases the beauty and charm of Kentucky's bluegrass region, in the form of a large-scale, fully-supported bike tour, which transforms into a bourbon festival each evening. In just the first three years, The Burn has grown into a +1,000 event, with participation from 45 states, as well as Canada and Europe. Previously, Austin co-owned Louisville Bicycle Tours - a guided sightseeing bicycle tour company. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Austin led active travel trips for Backroads in the western U.S., as well as Vietnam and Cambodia. These multi-day trips focus on cycling and hiking and occasionally other activities such as whitewater rafting and kayaking. In addition to the Trip Leader position, Austin was a blog contributor for the travel company's marketing blog, The Back Beat.Before to becoming a trip leader, Austin spent more than two years as a global adventure traveler, during which time he spanned nearly thirty countries in Asia, Central and South America and Europe. Highlights include self-supported bicycle adventures through Central Asia and Patagonia, as well as motorcycle tours to the Arctic Ocean in Alaska and across the steppe of Mongolia. After graduating university, Austin worked as an accountant in the estate planning department of a large regional law firm in Louisville, KY. Needless to say, accounting was not his calling.
