The role of the Timber Marketing Manager is to work collaboratively with the Resource Unit Team to achieve financial goals and desired outcomes through timber sale activities. This position will achieve market excellence through development of strategic customer relationships/partnerships and understanding the value chain through collection of market intelligence. Responsibilities include harvest schedule management, timber sale design, preparation and execution, development of a marketing plan that maximizes timber revenues, and tracking of timber sales for the Resource Unit. Also responsible for SFI compliance and developing new markets.

The Timber Production Forester is responsible for providing accurate information to the Timber Production Manager to assist in preparation of weekly/monthly production reporting and monthly production forecasts. The Timber Production Forester will assist the Timber Production Manager in implementing production schedules for contract log production including the coordination of falling, bucking, yarding and loading of delivered tree farm and Log Trade sales (all delivered sales) to meet time, volume, mix and quality requirements of customer and Pacific Resource Unit marketing needs, and responsible for compliance on stumpage sales. The Timber Production Forester is responsible for promoting interdepartmental efficiencies in field compliance checks by conducting cross department compliance on sites on or in proximity to daily travel routes.

Management Forester:Provide technical assistance to landowners in all areas of forest management; write multiple resource-based forest management plans for landowners; assist with timber sales on state lands; provide technical assistance to landowners in afforestation and reforestation; diagnose insect and disease infestations and make recommendations for control; assess storm damage to forest lands; develop prescribed burning plans and assist with implementation; provide assistance with establishing Streamside Management Zones; present forestry programs to school groups and local government bodies; assist landowners with cost share programs.Forester Technician:Coordinated, planned, organized, and administered professional, technical and non-technical forest management activities on Dixon Memorial State Forest, a 35,000 acre forest management unit, adjacent to and sharing ecosystem with Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. Responsibilities included:• Cruising and marking for lump sum timber sales, salvage sales and thinning• Timber inventories, inventory analysis, research, and mapping• Contract creation and management for chemical/mechanical site prep and planting• Contracts for non-timber forest products: bee yard leases, pine straw, palmetto berry harvests, etc• Assisted Satilla District with logistical and operational wildfire response• Dozier-plow operation for pre-suppression and suppression activities• Initial attack fire fighting hand-crew
