I teach in the Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) Program, where I educate students in introductory concepts and skills for image analysis. In the course, we discuss the concepts of remote sensing and image collection as well as apply real world image processing techniques using ArcGIS Pro to prepare students for the workforce.
In my role as a Customer Success Manager for Planet's Education & Research Program, we set off on a journey with the vision to build relationships and community with academic users around the world. My primary focus is in the North American geography, where I support our paying Education & Research engagements with over 50 universities and growing! As part of my role, I am responsible for onboarding and ensuring our customers realize value in their licensing. To do this, I work in lock step with administrators to help get their accounts up and running, educate them on account management, and work to schedule subsequent promotional activities like building webpages, organizing events, and even presenting to large audiences. Lastly, in my position I am personally motivated to work on the scientific impact satellite imagery can have on making our world a better place. I am responsible in leading our strategic initiatives with universities to aid in the innovation of using satellite imagery for commercial use and to help bring new and critical insights to the world.

In my role as a Graduate Research Assistant, I serve as the primary GIS and remote sensing analyst. This project aims to identify cutting-edge Deep Learning and Machine Learning techniques using remote sensing and GIS methods for crop regionalization in the Southeast United States. This role allows me to communicate GIS techniques in a multidisciplinary setting working with crop scientists, statisticians, farmers, and more. I am responsible for GIS data management as well as image processing and preparing data for Deep Learning applications. In this role I have utilized several software including ArcMap, ArcPro, Pix4D, Meshroom, MeshLab, and Google Earth Engine. I also serve as a primary presenter and have represented this work at various conferences and meetings.

As a PIL associate, I have spearheaded GIS consultant work. Unlike traditional collaborators, I work with several teams that are interested in incorporating geospatial data into their research. I serve as a data manager for projects in Senegal and Malawi. I am utilizing Google Earth Engine to automate image processing and using different GIS methods to measure field quality for groundnut growers. In this role, I have had to adapt, take leadership, and prove that GIS techniques are useful for agricultural applications.
