I am a young professional hungry to contribute to my community in whatever ways I can. I’ve led small staffs as well as worked as an independent operator. I am an award winning writer, with skills in commercial photography, and graphic design. I have experience in educating, community building, and have worked with local governments and organizations across Michigan. I am a jack of all trades but a master of few, with the organizational and time management skills to keep all the plates spinning! I graduated from Western Michigan University’s Lee Honors College, where I studied Writing, Race, Gender and Women’s Studies, and Communication. My educational focus was on interdisciplinary social justice, media criticism, and public relations. As a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies I engaged a diverse group of students in issues of race, sex, gender, and class through analyses of media and its inherent cultural messages. No matter where I go I like to know that my work is for a cause beyond myself. As the Digital Brand Manager & Educator for Michigan’s oldest craft distillery, my current cause is utilizing multimedia to cultivate and engage a large community of Michiganders in the lifestyle of our brand. Including educating folks about PureMichigan, grain-to-bottle, spirits, grown by working family farmers and distilled locally—so the fruits of our labor stays right here in our local economies. Building the world I want my family to live in, one day at a time.
