CurrentDevelop commercialization strategies that transition innovations into the market, which includes attending various events; identifying and connecting external partners to the IP and licensing team; developing marketing materials; curating leads and conducting all necessary follow up to maintain relationships with corporate partners. Work collaboratively with colleagues to draft and negotiate agreements such as options, licenses, material transfer agreements, non-disclosure agreements, cooperative research and development agreements, and joint development agreements. Identify funding opportunities and prototype development resources for innovators and start-up teams. Provide proposal development support for internal and external funding opportunities which led to $125k in funding for three Technology Accelerator Fund awardees. Continuously identify and implement efficiency improvements to enhance productivity and streamline operations across all SUNY technology transfer offices. Supervise I&EA’s undergraduate, graduate, and law student interns who complete on average over 40 projects per semester. Increased faculty engagement in tech transfer by over 33% through identifying new intellectual property that should be disclosed. Present regularly to faculty, students, and staff on the technology transfer process and the services the Industry and External Affairs (I&EA) team provides. Timely deliver Disclosure Evaluation Reports (DERs) to innovators and campus stakeholders which outline intellectual property and market opportunity assessments of new technology disclosures. Manage an IP portfolio of over 200 active technologies in the physical and computer sciences portfolio, including campuses such as The University at Albany, NYCREATES, AIM Photonics, Upstate Medical University, and SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Provide campus customers with superior service, guidance, and recommendations to enable campus leadership to make decisions on IP-related costs.
