I am a trained social studies teacher with seven years of experience in the field. I earned a bachelor's degree in teaching social sciences from Brigham Young University and earned a master's degree in history with an emphasis on world history from Norwich University. I have participated in many teams and currently serve as the chair of the West Hills Middle School social studies department and team lead of our school's ELL Task Force aiding English Language Learners. I am proficient in numerous computer programs and platforms including Microsoft Office, G suite, Instructure/Canvas, Nearpod, Quizizz, Gimkit, EdPuzzle, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, StoryboardThat, and others. I have experience teaching U.S. history, Utah Studies, Geography, and a variety of elective courses including public speaking, history through Disney, and mock trial.I am passionate about educating young people in social studies and empowering students to become active citizens and lifelong learners.
