For my final semester of schooling for my Bachelors degree in Recreation, Sport, and Park Administration I'm required to complete a 400 hour or 10 week internship with an agency that will align with a future professional full time position, in Recreation, Sport, and Park Administration. During my time as a Recreational Intern for Chesterfield Park, Recreation & Arts, I have worked in areas of Aquatics, Swim team, Concerts, Special events such as, Tour De Wellness and Fourth of July Celebration, Concession stands, and working in the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex. My on the job experience, working with Recreation Specialist, Managers, Superintendents, and the Parks Director himself has greatly benefited my future placement in the field for a full- time position. I will be able to take the experiences and skills learned from my Internship and apply it to my next Job in the Recreational and Sports related field(s) in my future career.

Manage facility's activity, employees, and conducting checks throughout the building hourly to ensure patron safety. Also that staff are complying with proper employee duties/tasks.

Bill Foster And Family Student Recreation Center

Scan and monitor pool activity throughout the shift. Checking to ensure pool chemicals are in proper balance and if unbalanced add proper amount of chemicals to make a clean and safe place for patrons to swim in. Supervise audits on lifeguards and instruct weekly in-services, plan special events coming into the pool and supervise those events.

Teach a class up to 10 participants the necessary skills needed to perform lifeguarding/ CPR skills in a daily work envoirment. Organize classes skills practice sessions, instruct skills required by the American Red Cross association, give and grade required tests, and conduct final scenario skills tests needed to receive lifeguard/CPR certifications from the American Red Cross.
