Most power units were ordered in one-off… Show more My primary responsibility at Tec-Hackett encompassed working with 3-D software to produce conceptual designs of hydraulic power units. These designs were often tailored to meet specific customer requirements, which may have included user functionality, footprint size, mobility, et cetera.When a design received customer approval, I then had the task of producing a detailed technical drawing for the assembly department to construct the power unit. Most power units were ordered in one-off quantities; but I designed the models and drawings so that large quantities could be produced efficiently as possible, if the need arose. I also had various responsibilities prior to and during assembly. I worked with vendors to supply components and custom fabrications to meet project deadlines. I also provided design support to the application department to resolve construction issues. Overall, I find my position to be very rewarding. Its fulfilling to see a project thru from start to finish and to see a concept come to life. When I first started at Tec-Hackett, 3-D design was a relatively new concept for the company, but I am proud to say that my work has brought grow to the company, by improving our production capabilities and our overall turn around time.
