Our primary objectives are: first, to urge and assist the personal and professional development of our members, and second, to create a social environment that is conducive to establishing lifelong network opportunities. From holding a regional conference every fall and winning top chapter at nationals in New Orleans to touring local business and recruiting professional speakers the UW-Whitewater chapter of the American Marketing Association strives to be the best it can be and offer an area for students to learn and grow in a professional manor.Key objectives for UWW-AMA Fall '12 & Spring '13:- The business world is an ever changing landscape and UWW-AMA must keep pace, if not one step ahead, with employer expectations. The action plan being implemented this year gives members direct opportunities to interact and engage in events related to sales, marketing, and technology.- Experience in sales is one of the best skills a potential hire could have. In today’s business world there isn’t a job out there that doesn't involve some sort of selling, so UWW-AMA is working the Institute for Sales Excellence—one of UWW-AMA’s biggest initiatives to date.- With over 100 active student organizations on campus, UWW-AMA recognizes the opportunity for collaboration not competition. Established in 1986, Creative Marketing Unlimited (CMU) is UWW-AMA's student-run research and marketing consulting agency that works with clients on a fee-basis. Students are not paid for their work and revenue generated is used for charitable causes, conference travel, and AMA related activities. Professionally, CMU offers more experience than any class.Throughout my positions in CMU I have worked with local accounts including: Fort Healthcare, UW-Madison-Hospitals, UW-Whitewater Sustainability, UW-Whitewater Gender Studies, UW-Whitewater Men's Wheelchair Basketball, W3 Wellness, and many more. As president it was my responsibility to help facilitate the ultimate source of knowledge and training for understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations through the application of marketing principles. Coordination, communication, lead generation, motivation, creation and revisions were the areas of main focus. My teams and I assisted a number of clients with survey development, market research, data analysis, campaign development and final report creation.
