I started this role in May of 2022 as a learning community leader coordinator for the FYrST office. In that role it was my responsibility to oversee a class of first-year students and their transition on to campus. I facilitated that by organizing weekly classes, tutoring sessions, and events. This was all in an effort to create a community for the new students on campus. As time went on in the position I took on the opportunity to lead two communities. This brought on new challenges and required me to manage my time between the two better but it made me better at event organization. In November of 2023, I received a promotion to the Learning Community Leader Coordinator position. In this role, it became my responsibility to oversee a group of 30+ Learning community Leaders in the Fall and Spring. In the Spring I took on administrative tasks like recruitment of new leaders and retention of veteran leaders. I used ETL processes to transport the data from one software to an excel database and from their organized the data into its proper locations. In the fall it is my responsibility to peer lead these leaders and document all items related to their job performance on a week-to-week basis.

In this role I helped peers with ongoing problems in Calculus and Economics. In this role I helped peers study for and learn different items on a meeting-to-meeting basis. Often by creating practice problems and using inductive reasoing to teach the material. I also on a regular basis would get in communication with the students professors to make my content similar in nature to what items they would see on examination date.

In this role, I had the opportunity to shadow and learn from managers in my own store and throughout Ohio. I had the opportunity to learn from industry professionals with 20+ years of experience in a managerial role for a retail company. While working here I gained a great understanding of the sales, operations, and merchandising standards of a multi-million dollar brick-and-mortar organization. I also had the opportunity to try and develop said store in that time by working with a team on a day-to-day basis. Working with this team allowed me to improve my communication, time management, and interpersonal skills. I also had the opportunity to take on a project in this role. For this project, I had to improve an underperforming department and reorganize it to create more opportunities for improved performance. Due to my changes within the department, I created a 21% increase in departmental performance that outperformed the majority of peers in the disrtict.
