Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is a Critical Access Hospital with five rural health clinics and over 125 credentialed medical providers. CCMC also operates Meadowlark Hospice and the Mark A. Chapman Wellness Center. We have an ownership stake in Mobile Clinical Services and Liberty Place Assisted Living. Awarded the Top 20 Critical Access Hospital in the United States. Awarded the Regional Governor’s Award of Excellence in the State of Kansas.In 2017, we acquired three rural health clinics, eight family practice physicians, and four midlevel providersIn 2018, we worked with our community to issue general obligation bonds for a 29,000 square foot addition and a 15,000 square foot renovation. No taxes were levied. Engaged the Clay County Hospital Foundation to raise $2.8 million in 18 months for new fixtures, furnishings, and equipment. In 2019, we purchased land and built two new provider-based rural health clinics in Clyde, KS and Riley, KS. In 2021, we remodeled and opened a new provider-based rural health clinic in Glasco, KS.In 2021, we implemented Cerner CommunityWorks throughout our hospital and five provider-based rural health clinics.In 2021, we completed a 27 exam room, 12,000 square foot, provider-based rural health clinic renovation. Added a three exam room infectious disease suite alongside this provider-based rural health clinic. In 2022, we expanded and renovated a 5,500 square foot kitchen and dining room. Completed in October 2021. In 2024, we started the construction of a 6,765 square-foot addition, featuring a new mental health clinic and expansion of Clay Center Family Physicians.Recruited four family practice/obstetrics physicians, three psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, two CRNAs, OB/GYN, Neurologist, Endocrinologist, Ophthalmologist, Gastroenterologist, Podiatrist, Oncologist, Orthopedic Surgeon, and Dermatologist. We now have over 30 specialists that visit CCMC on a monthly basis.

We are the leading healthcare provider and largest employer in Nance County with over 140 employees.By building relationships with local and surrounding medical providers during my tenure, we were able to achieve the following in one year and six months: - Increased acute days 25%- Increased swing bed days 23%- Increased surgery volume 28%- Increased outpatient services by 9%- Increased inpatient services by 34%Reduced operational expense by 13 percent, while increasing net revenue by 11 percent.Consolidated all billing and outsourced collections for the Hospital, Long Term Care and Assisted Living – improved accounts receivable in the Hospital from 78 days to 49 days and Long Term Care from 36 days to 20 days. Alleviated over 15 percent of our private pay and/or payment plan patient accounts receivable by partnering with Cornerstone Bank to establish medical loans for Hospital patients.Launched and established specialty clinics: Cardiology, Podiatry, Pulmonology, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation by partnering with Faith Regional Health Services (Norfolk, NE).Developed school nurse staffing agreements for two school districts (Twin River Public Schools and High Plains Community Schools). This in return increased our ancillary service revenue and clinic numbers. Established Point Click Care, an EMR system, in our Long Term Care and Assisted Living. We increased documentation, which led to a 10 percent increase in Medicaid reimbursement. Implemented Stage 2 Meaningful Use software and started attesting in October 2014. Pratt Regional Medical Center has 430 employees with annual gross revenues of over $90 million.Pioneered and developed the ‘Rural Track Administrative Fellowship’ for rural hospitals.Worked with the Executive Staff on managing 430 employees in the following services: Ancillary, Clinical, Surgical, Support Services, Nursing, Finance, Materials Management, and 7 clinics. Assisted the VP of Clinics on the recruitment of a Podiatrist and GYN Surgeon. The Podiatrist is expected to add $200,000 net revenue for fiscal year 2014. The GYN Surgeon is expected to add $300,000 net revenue for fiscal year 2014. Participated in the merger and acquisition of Pratt Internal Medicine Group (PIMG). PIMG consists of four (4) Internal Medicine, one (1) Gastroenterologist, and two (2) Mid-Level providers. In addition, we developed a new four (4) tiered wRVU physician payment model. Improved the facility fee coding process of the Emergency Department. PRMC was under-coding the facility fee by over $700,000 gross revenue in FY 2013. With a collection rate of 33 percent, we project an additional $280,000 in net revenue in fiscal year 2014.Launched and developed Pratt Home Care, a private-pay Home Health business line with the Home Health manager. Services start January 2014. Projected net revenue in 2014 is $25,000, 2015 is $62,000, and 2016 is $82,000. Collaborated on a $31 million renovation and expansion of PRMC. This included FF&E purchases, daily construction meetings, and PRMC communication to employees and visitors. The six-phase project will be completed in June 2015.
