Austin Grant is a Fire Protection Engineer with multi-state professional licensure. His career in fire protection began as a volunteer firefighter at the Highview Fire Protection District; with an interest in engineering as well, this led to finding his place in the field of Fire Protection Engineering. Austin graduated from Eastern Kentucky University’s Fire Protection Engineering Technology program in 2011, followed by a degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland in 2014. Austin is a Principal Fire Protection Engineer at Performance Based Fire Protection Engineering, providing design and consulting services in fire protection and life safety. He has provided FPE services for a wide range of challenging project types including at military bases around the world, distilleries, hospitals, high-rises, golf entertainment facilities, and everything in between.Austin is the immediate past president of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Kentucky chapter and serves on the SFPE Annual Conference Planning Committee. He is also a graduate of the Kentucky Leadership PE class.
