I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia and am a PN1 certified nutrition coach through Precision Nutrition. I earned a Master's Degree in psychology from the University of West Georgia, where I was awarded the Mike Aaron's Scholarship for contributions to and involvement in humanistic psychology. I was mentored in person-centered and psychoanalytic psychotherapies. I specialize in play therapy for young children in the treatment of physical and sexual abuse and other trauma, as well as adolescent personality disorders, self-harm, and suicide.I believe that the psychotherapy process is fundamentally relational, as it moves a person towards improving interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation and expression, distress tolerance, and self-efficacy. in essence, understanding where you've been, what you've seen, and moving towards where you want and who you want to be. I have special interests in the areas of early childhood trauma, human trafficking, nutritional interventions for mental health, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, and Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT).After leaving the University of West Georgia, where I worked clinically with student athletes regarding clinical mental health, outreach and prevention, nutrition, health psychology, and performance psychology, I founded Onward Counseling & Training to fill an obvious void within the mental / health care system. I offer unique hybrid services of mental health counseling, personal fitness training, integrative wellness seminars, and workshops on experiential stress management. Additional services include nutrition consultation, group sport psychology workshops, and breath work seminars.
