Design EngineerAcco Engineered Systems Jun 2007 - Oct 2011Pasadena, Ca, UsI worked on the engineering design and drafting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. My work started with calculating the heat load in a room. These reports gave the heating and cooling requirements for each zone. The air flow necessary to condition the zone was also calculated and sometime adjusted in these reports. With the heating and cooling requirements, I would proceed with sizing the ductwork or piping, and selecting equipment. For calculating heat loads, I am most familiar with Trane's Trace. I preformed most of the heat load calculations for our office. For a Naval Support Facility, I created an energy model that demonstrated our required energy savings. I have also used Carrier's block load software. I feel confident I would be able to pick up any other software with some practice. My office had both a construction and a service division. For the service division, I have experience in retrofits and replacements. For a T-Mobile Data Center, I calculated the remaining system capacity, branch capacities, and made recommendations for future build outs. I have also completed lots of like-for-like replacements of equipment. -
