I want to create a better world.When I was young, I had the dream of becoming a meteorologist for the National Weather Service. The thought of helping people by making forecasts and creating warnings to save lives drove me to learn more about the atmosphere. It was the perfect dream until I arrived in college. It was at Ball State University that I realized the rate at which the world was changing. The effects of anthropogenic climate change and the need for innovative solutions grew every day. And that's when it happened; the spark inside of me to help people through meteorology turned into an inferno of passion to construct innovative solutions. I took my first computer science class and fell in love with the ability to create what seemed to be anything I wanted. Emergency management classes allowed me to understand the multilayered hazards inside our communities while constructing action plans to mitigate them. ArcGIS tied everything together, allowing creative maps to capture the physical world and its dangers.The weather can be frightening for many, especially as it causes increasingly severe disasters around the world. However, the weather doesn't have to be something we fear. With understanding and knowledge, we can mold the world around us into a better place. I take pride in knowing I can use technology and knowledge of the atmosphere to help others create a better world.My specialties include; the ability to adapt quickly to new environments, quickly learning new skills and programming languages, problem-solving, weather forecasting, emergency preparedness, and ArcGIS map creation.
