Acted as lead engineer for Okta Workflows Insights, a team responsible for both external and internal visibility into all things Workflows related, and at the same time served as Product Owner of the Okta Workflows Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team.* Produced SRE product roadmaps leveraging Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, and Golang based microservice tooling to enable global scale of Workflows on AWS. Involved in day to day collaboration with the SRE team to aid in goal completion.* Created the long term architectural design for product Insights consisting of several microservices (written in Rust, NodeJs and Python), data stores (primarily Cassandra and PostgresSQL), metrics systems (Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana), and vendors (AWS S3, Snowflake, Tableau) and led the team’s implementation of this architecture.

Led the team responsible for managing and supporting self hosted (OEM) Azuqua deployments on AWS and Azure Cloud while developing Azuqua's backend distributed tracing infrastructure; additionally, designed and led the effort to produce Azuqua's Real Time Notification feature, and managed the strategy and effort to migrate Azuqua's microservice orchestration to Kubernetes.* Successfully led the deployment efforts required for multiple OEM customers, managing communication between organizations, providing implementation roadmaps, and ensuring delivery took place as scheduled. * Designed and implemented a distributed tracing framework, largely influenced by opentracing.io, that collects, processes, and persists tens of millions of Azuqua workflow events each day.* Designed and led the effort to deliver Azuqua’s Real Time Notification feature, allowing users to receive an email notifying them of an issue with their workflows upon detecting the error.* Provided oversight, strategy, and operations to accomplish a migration of Azuqua's production microservice layer to Kubernetes with no downtime.

Provided technical design and implementation of the Azuqua Tables product while supporting all other teams' database dependencies; in addition, fully responsible for all application development and infrastructure management concerning Datastax Enterprise (DSE) Cassandra and PostgreSQL, including microsystem implementation, and database monitoring and workload tuning.* Designed and implemented Azuqua Tables, a dynamically defined data store allowing self-service, centralized, collection management across the Azuqua Platform.* Optimized production PostgreSQL for high volume, large payload operations.* Orchestrated the production deployment and ongoing maintenance of a DSE Datacenter comprised of both Cassandra and Solr (DSE Search) clusters.

Primarily responsible for a data layer infrastructure comprised of PostgreSQL, Cassandra and Redis at Azuqua, Inc; as well as the development of a Role Based permissions model, application monitoring system, and administrative platform tools.* Managed the data interface layer, providing both relational and non-relational database design while creating, maintaining and scaling NodeJS microservices for PostgreSQL and DataStax Cassandra.* Designed and implemented the architecture for a platform wide Role Based Access Control (RBAC) system using a relational set implementation and best practices as laid out by the National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST).* Designed, developed and published the NPM module CassanKnex (www.npmjs.com/package/cassanknex) as an efficient CQL query building tool.

Performed all platform design and development at Hointer, a Seattle based start up that drastically re-envisions the retail world by infusing the traditional retail store with cloud technologies.* Designed, implemented, and scaled the full stack for a back-end Node JS server (using standard Node Packages such as Express, Authenticate, and Restify) to handle internal code library management (with emphasis on object module design, code re-use, and reduced code maintenance), and authenticated API stack (compliant with Semantic versioning).* Managed the systems development life cycle for multiple applications using various technologies including AWS (with emphasis on NoSQL DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, ElasticBeanstalk and EC2), Google (Android, GCM and Google Web API's), Programming IDE's (primarily Eclipse, Netbeans and WebStorm), and programming languages (primarily Javascript, Php, Java, Css and Html).* Managed a team of both seasoned and amateur developers while working with clients to ensure project critical tasks are properly prioritized.* Fully designed and developed several mobile applications (including the “Hointer Mobile Shopping Application”, “Hointer Kiosk” point of sale system, and “Hointer In-Room Application”, among others) for Android, iOS, and Windows 8 Phones using a combination of native and web based programming languages.
