Responsible for liaising with the MOD and other government departments to develop and deliver the Army’s Logistic and Mechanical Engineering support to operations and routine tasks. Manage on a daily basis the Army’s supply chain for operations; solve problems under tight time-lines, to deliver vital equipment and resources for worldwide operations within budget. Concurrently planning and coordinating logistic capability for military activity in support of the civil community in the UK; including activities such as flood relief and the 1,500 Service Personnel supporting the Commonwealth Games.

Planned, delivered and implemented the logistic support for the military contribution of eventually 18,000 personnel to the London Olympics and Paralympics within a £36M budget. Awarded the MBE for delivering this successfully.

This included the management articulation and mitigation of risk in the support area for the generation of future Army capability. Planned and coordinated with industry and numerous project teams the delivery and deployment of urgent operational requirements such as high volumes of armour protected vehicles. Project managed, monitored multi-million pound contracts for provision of support functions to ensure maximum effectiveness of the deployed force. Managed the provision and sustainment of all commodities, including ammunition, fuel, food and material, required by 9000 personnel in Afghanistan.

Directly responsible for 150 people. Providing leadership, management, training and operational output. The organization specialised in: supply, distribution, heavy and outsized equipment transport.

Managed the tasking of an organisation consisting of 4000 personnel and equipment valued at $350 million including 1000 vehicles and 30 watercraft. Oversaw the organisations transition from a Transport Group to a Sustainment Brigade. Responsible for managing a staff of 40 experienced and professional US officers.
