Led a team of undergraduate students in research aimed at identifying the effectiveness of federal grants on student academic performance. Focus on leadership and organization were critical in managing the team and staying on track to meet report deadlines. I was personally responsible for the bulk of the data analysis, writing code in SAS software to identify patterns in student achievement as a result of their participation in specific grant-sponsored activities. I was also responsible for presenting these data findings to clients bi-weekly, answering their questions with data-driven support.

Vela Institute is a non-profit data analytics group aimed at improving educational opportunities for students. I led two large projects:•Job analysis for the position of college access mentor. This included interviewing SME's, developing questionnaire rating scales, and analyzing data. I also authored the full technical report of analysis, findings, and recommendations for the client on training and performance management improvements•Created and executed plan to analyze student performance data and learning loss occurring due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Insights will be used to develop recommendations for learning programs to mitigate losses.Other past projects include:•Developing evaluation plans for the effectiveness of new educational training curriculums•Researching and preparing reports for recommendations on school interventions to reduce absenteeism and improve motivation in learning.

During my time with TI, I analyzed survey data in Excel using pivot tables and presented findings to team leaders. This included identifying trends and providing insights on curriculum design changes needed. I also took on an additional project to translate my findings into a professional development article for training managers, which became one of the most viewed articles of the month on TI's website. Throughout the internship, I provided updates to the LMS.
