I did three internships over the 2019, 2020, and 2021 summers at Peninsula. I worked in the Pro Shop checking in customers and selling our merchandise daily. During Covid, I was able to get some experience outside working with the cart fleet and greeting customers when they first come in. During this internship, I never saw the same day twice. Due to the high volume environment and constant influx of new guests daily from all over the country, I learned a great deal about customer service and satisfaction. Due to over 15 courses in a short radius, it was vital that we made sure every customer leaving the property left with a memorable experience. At Peninsula I made it a priority to get to know all of the members and locals that played there every day, they made up the core of the golf course. I gave lessons and learned a lot about the teaching environment. Inside the pro shop, I gained experience in inventory, scheduling, cost management, and much more. Working the cart fleet I learned maintenance, attention to detail, and the importance of networking with customers. In my final weeks there I was able to train the new people coming in. This was a great internship filled with many life lessons that I'll never take for granted.
