NeuroFlow helps risk-bearing healthcare organizations improve outcomes and cost of care in medically complex populations by surfacing and supporting behavioral health needs that typically go undetected and under-addressed. Across payors, providers, and the federal government, NeuroFlow’s scalable technology and analytics capabilities empower organizations with the behavioral health insights they’re missing to manage these populations in a financially sustainable way. Led all financial activities and served as business partner to the rest of the organization to ensure we hit our growth and operating objectives.

I was a CFO for SaaS companies and subscription businesses between $1 million and $20 million in annually recurring revenue. My responsibilities ranged from detail-oriented accounting and financial reporting to identifying the value-drivers in the business to more effectively allocate resources to hit growth targets. I was hands-on and often wore many hats given the lean nature of the finance departments in growth companies.

Established the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function and implemented a SaaS business model and reporting structure. Collaborating with other departments, I created a system for measurement of SaaS KPIs such as ARR, CAC, CAC payback, recurring gross margins, net/gross revenue retention, customer churn and sales efficiency, and I tracked these performance indicators to drive better decision making. Working with the controller and another operations professional, I established a more efficient process for billing and collections, which reduced DSOs by 15%. Working with sales and product teams, I helped establish controls around contract pricing and payment terms, which resulted in a higher number of contracts with annual upfront payment, improving cash flow. By engaging with the Board of Directors, I created a new financial presentation format and financial package, which enhanced communication and transparency. After instilling financial discipline through the leadership of financial operations and accounting function, I hired my replacement from an outsourced CFO firm to ensure continuity of the finance function

Managed a $100 million market neutral long/short equity portfolio ($200 million gross market value), covering a broad range of cyclical industries, including the consumer (discretionary and staples), technology, and industrial sectorsGenerated profitable track record with low volatility buying and selling stocks based on original fundamental analysis using a bottom-up value-oriented approach. Identified and analyzed stocks of all market capitalization sizes. Ran all areas of the investment process: sector specific quantitative equity screen development, stock selection and research, trade decisions and risk management. Led meetings with quantitative data providers that resulted in improved stock screening methodology. Conducted detailed analyses of financial statements, conference call transcripts, comparable company valuations and sector trends, and constructed financial models to guide stock selection. Monitored positions to constantly re-evaluate thesis.

Consumer investment banker. Advised eCommerce, retail, restaurant, and apparel companies on M&A, private placements, equity and debt offerings. Communicated directly with leadership teams of clients to ensure prioritization and coordination of deal timelines. Generated new business by preparing materials that identified industry trends, the competitive landscape, M&A candidates, and potential operational and capital efficiencies.

Evaluated investments across five asset classes: fixed income, public equities, absolute return, private equity and real assets.

Private equity associate. Worked closely with portfolio company CEO and finance department to build monthly budget model. Developed cost containment program that significantly improved cash flow. Sourced and analyzed investments in private companies with a focus on consumer products/services and industrial sectors

Energy investment banker. Developed complex financial models for analyzing high yield and convertible debt financings, M&A transactions, principal investing transactions, and equity offerings.

Investor Targeting Group. Analyzed the equity investment characteristics of corporate clients to assist in the creation of their investor relations programs with institutions.
