Words have meaning, they have impacts on other people, on projects and how successful businesses are capable of becoming by what they promise and what they deliver. My entire life I've followed the mantra "think twice, speak once," because I understand the far reaching impact careless or hasty words can cause as it relates to perception, expectations and future working relationships.This philosophy was reinforced with military discipline by my 8 years in the United States Air Force where I was a acquisition project manager. In those 8 years and the subsequent 5 years as a civilian project manager I've been fortunate to work with and learn from outstanding individuals from a variety of disciplines to include: systems engineering, finance, contracting, physical and cyber security as well as senior project and program managers and more. With a focus on listening more than talking I've learned important skills from all of these specialties, what works and more importantly, what doesn't.I have successfully led projects from a few thousand dollars up to $100M. As part of teams I've successfully supported and contributed to projects up to $2.4B. -I keep my focus on the strategic objectives of the organization and how the project is or isn't supporting those objectives.-I can scale the project management framework (Project Management Internationals or other) to the requirements of the project or the organizations project management procedures.-I engage with stakeholders at all levels (technicians to senior leadership to interested third parties) for the benefit of the project, organization and individual.-I balance progress on the current project with creating successful conditions for future projects by building and respecting long term relationships with stakeholders and team members-I always keep an eye out for opportunities for greater benefit to the project and organization, and more importantly create the conditions before hand to be able to take advantage of opportunities.
