At Stanislaus Arts Council, I was one of 3 employees working to connect this budding organization with artists and community members in Stanislaus County.My primary role was being the point of contact for the Heartland Creative Corps grant program in Stanislaus County. A $4.2 million grant program funded by the California Arts Council. $1.6 million of which came to Stanislaus County to fund 17 art projects.My primary role was producing the ad creatives and overall marketing campaign for the grant initiative in Stanislaus County, connecting with local artists and government officials to ensure a successful grant program, assisting with the application process and reviewing applications, and being an administrative liaison for our 17 awardees for the duration of their projects.In addition, I produced photo and video content of the art projects for Stanislaus Arts Council to utilize for sharing about the impacts of art in our communities.Outside the grant program, I often worked on other administrative, marketing, and public relations initiatives for the nonprofit- such as doing website design and updates, creating social media content, making infographics, producing internal communications for board members & stakeholders, writing press releases, and helping plan exhibitions and events.

As an Executive Team Leader (assistant manager), I oversee the team and operations for the Service & Engagement department for a $50 million dollar Target store. I mentor a team of 2 leaders and 40+ team members to roll out guest experience initiatives and brand standards. The team executes on company behavioral and operational standards to provide an exceptional guest experience! I execute team scheduling, training and development. Observing, coaching and recognizing are core to my role of developing a strong and united team that is dedicated to our business goals and ready to serve our guests.

Understanding the financials, logistics, safety standards, compliance and talent necessary to achieve successful business outcomes, and learning from Target leadership teams to create the best possible guest experience by developing a culture that prioritizes fast, fun, and friendly service.

My onboarding to a permanent location was delayed due to the pandemic, so I had the opportunity to provide extra leadership support at my local Target during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I built the Marketing & Promotions team from the ground up to implement communications and business operations for the campus media group at California Baptist University, which includes The Banner newspaper, Pursuit magazine, Angelos yearbook, and CBU TV.This team included a social media manager, paid-advertising manager, marketing manager, distribution manager, and events manager. During my time making this team, I implemented a distribution logistics spreadsheet to track our circulation and revamped the distribution strategy. Through tracking trends and streamlining our brand, my team’s improved strategy resulted in a 92.7% year-over-year increase in the average collection of The Banner newspaper.I loved working with this team and seeing how the efforts of the team improved the branding of Lancer Media Group on campus.

I was a member of the photography team for Lancer Media Group at California Baptist University. I worked on a team of 10+ other photographers to create visual stories for The Banner newspaper, Pursuit magazine and Angelos yearbook at CBU.

Learned all aspects of large-scale retail processes and applied management principles to those processes, including Service and Engagement, General Merchandise, Specialty Sales, Asset Protection and Human Resources.Core to this experience was contributing to the transformational leadership and team building that supported a store culture where team members are motivated and guests feel valued. Target is a place where I can be a part of a diverse and inclusive team and acquire practical leadership experience around people with unique and meaningful worldviews.

Door-to-door sales representative at Clear Solar. I spent my time teaching people about solar technology, the benefits it can bring them, and the impact it can have on our planet.Looking back, this job taught me a crucial skill: to accept failure and rejection. Every day I knocked on doors for hours and had to convince people, that wanted nothing to do with me, why I was worth talking to and my message was worth hearing. This is a skill that has stayed with me through my future experiences.
