Austin is a Senior Consultant in the Cyber Risk Advisory practice at Coalfire. Austin is experienced in leading projects to support clients through cybersecurity program builds, risk assessment and mitigation activities, maturity benchmarking, data privacy, and other compliance initiatives such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, Secure Controls Framework, SOC, ISO 27001, SOX, and FFIEC.Austin has provided strategic leadership, valuable insights, and operational support to numerous organizations in various industries (e.g., Financial, Technology, Retail, etc.). Austin is well versed in Incident Response, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery documentation development as well as testing, has operationalized and managed Third-Party Risk Management Programs, has managed Phishing programs, conducted Business Impact Analysis (BIA), and is experienced in security policy and procedure development. Austin has robust familiarity with complex organizations and has conducted multi-tiered internal assessments on behalf of Fortune 500 companies. Austin’s extensive experience and expertise makes him an invaluable asset to organizations desiring to improve their cyber and information security programs. Austin is committed to delivering customized and high-quality work products to address client needs and assist in program maturity.Prior to Coalfire, Austin worked at Ernst & Young in the IT Risk Advisory practice. Austin was primarily responsible for the auditing and testing of IT systems supporting key financial processes in order to attest to control effectiveness in SOX, SOC 1, and SOC 2 reports. Austin additionally led numerous operational assessments on behalf of clients Internal Audit departments to assess internal business processes.Austin earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Accounting Concentration) from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. During his time at The Citadel, he developed strong leadership, teamwork, organizational, and time management skills. Austin graduated with a Master’s Degree focused in Accounting from Arizona State University - W. P. Carey School of Business.
