This describes a variety of Assistant Instructor positions. Fall2010 and Spring 2011 semesters I assisted undergraduate senior Informatics students with their group capstone projects, evaluating their progress, helping with software engineering aspects of their projects, and facilitating group interactions. Fall2011 I worked with graduate students in a survey course that covered seminal readings in HCI discourse. I prepared a handful of lectures, graded exams, and led the extracurricular reading group associated with this course. Fall2012 I worked with graduate students in an Advanced Prototyping course, lecturing on physical prototyping techniques, with a focus on Arduino.

Worked in one of LexisNexis' "think-tank" departments.

Teaching assistant for Human Computer Interaction class. Monitored students' progress, met with the student groups to observe and provide feedback on projects, and assisted in the grading of coursework.

Worked with Dr. Paul V. Gestwicki researching the effects of curriculum visualization techniques on students' curricular understanding. Developed and usability tested CurricVis, a visualization tool. Presented at the Consortium for Computer Science in Colleges: Midwest Region 2009 conference in the undergraduate research competition (1st place). Presented at the ACM student research competition.

Worked in an interdisciplinary environment to study the impact of character design on the development of virtual worlds. Also studied interdisciplinary communication. Presented results at BSU 2009 Student Symposium and in the CS Department’s colloquium series.

Developed a commercial software application, the ViziSwap Authoring Tool, that operates as the project creation interface for the ViziSwap tool developed by the IDEE. Also used the experience to assess the effectiveness of Usage-Centered Design on the design, development and final quality of the product. Presented findings at CCSC:MW 2008, the BSU Student Symposium 2008, and the Butler University Undergraduate Research Competition 2008.
