Open-Source Compliance Engineering team - Building tools to streamline license compliance for third-party code being imported, used, or released.* Designing and developing a unified web frontend for displaying open source license usage across all Google products.* Created a pipeline to extract license data from all software bill of materials (SBOMs) being generated, enabling compliance tooling to seamlessly monitor all artifacts being built and released with Blaze (aka Bazel).* Planned and executed a complete database modernization from Bigtable to Spanner for Google's Contributor License Agreement (CLA) system. Developed new libraries, batch jobs, data migration pipelines, access policies, experiments, etc to ensure feature parity with zero data loss. Executed a migration with zero downtime and zero incidents. This effort eliminated significant tech debt, removed a old, poorly understood database system, and improved system performance and fault tolerance. * Implemented package-level commercial license tracking, ensuring packages are deprecated once their licenses have expired. Coordinated with a large number of package owners and legal teams to backfill data for ~8,000 third-party packages.* Built an automated user data wipeout service for Google's OSS Discourse forums, brining it into compliance with data retention policies for 100k+ users.
