As a dedicated product design professional, I bring new concepts to life daily. Apart from my 9-5 engineering design job, I enhance my product development skills through my side business, Ziggy Zig Designs. I constantly expand my knowledge of new manufacturing processes by incorporating them into my personal maker shop.I am proficient in utilizing 3D printers (owning x15 3D Printers), CNC machining (owning an X-Carve), laser engraving (owning an Omtech), and woodworking (owning a complete woodshop). All my products are meticulously designed using SolidWorks, VCarve, and RDWorks. My goal is to broaden my expertise in various manufacturing processes and design software to become a more versatile product designer. Each project I undertake adds to my repertoire of design techniques, enabling me to create effective products more efficiently.My passion lies in creating high-quality products in a cost-effective manner. I start each project by defining requirements based on user interactions with the product. This methodology allows me to identify and address design considerations early on, which can be validated through quantitative and qualitative testing. Upon achieving a successful design, I ensure consistent quality during manufacturing by validating the process. Drawing from my product development philosophy and experience in prototyping and mass manufacturing, I can swiftly deliver effective product solutions at an inexpensive cost.Progressing into a management role has significantly enhanced my leadership skills. Managing multiple projects simultaneously has taught me to pinpoint critical paths to a product's success. Through developing my prioritization techniques and adopting an owner's mindset, I efficiently prioritize projects based on investment costs, time-to-market, and potential challenges. With a well-defined scope of work, I can adeptly train, delegate, and complete tasks to deliver projects promptly.My diverse skill set, honed through running a successful hobby business and overseeing an engineering team at a prominent medical device company, positions me to add immediate value on the creation and development of any new project.
