A registered Professional Engineer in B.C. and Alberta, Austyn has project experience spanning three continents and dozens of projects working for engineering consultants and prime contractors in technical roles. His experience includes mining, site drainage, site servicing (deep and shallow utilities), road construction (AT / MoTI highways and private roads), hydrology & hydraulic structures, river engineering, heavy civil construction, materials testing, survey and geomatics, erosion and sediment control (CPESC), flood protection, recreational site development and improvement, climate change impact prediction, feasibility studies, environmental programs, and emergency response management (ICS). Austyn has experience in project management and controls including contract administration, scheduling, estimating, execution planning, quality control, cost control, field engineering, regulatory submission and compliance, bid prep & tendering, and safety including developing COR and SECOR programs in Alberta. He has acted on behalf of the owner as the owner’s engineer on public and private projects for full project cycles. Austyn has experience working in challenging terrain and understands the unique challenges of remote sites, frozen ground conditions, and environmentally sensitive areas. He has experience in technical and investigative engineering analysis and reporting in support of insurance and legal matters within his scope of practice.
