    This intellectually stimulating position allowed me to conduct qualitative research that involved extensive literature reviews, publishing peer-reviewed articles, presenting at conferences, and designing and implementing a research project. I conducted field visits and collected images, social media posts, and a/v recordings, analyzed large data sets, and published a PhD thesis on the strategic use of festival performances and social media to build collective identities and represent global populations. Some of my accomplishments included speaking to over 400 academics and professionals at 7 conferences, publishing a book chapter, and obtaining a 2-year Social Science and Humanities Council grant for my work. I am a subject matter expert in language equity within the Canadian framework, the intersection of social representation and cultural production, and the geopolitical and historical dimensions of population mobility and Western colonialism.
