The Carbon Coalition was a bipartisan coalition of leaders and environmental groups advocating for action on climate change. • Coordinated the efforts of many state and national organizations, including the Sierra Club, Environmental Defense Fund, Union of Concerned Scientists, and League of Conservation Voters, in recruiting volunteers and ensuring that steps were taken to place a resolution on the town meeting ballot and that volunteers were prepared to advocate for its passage. • Designed and led workshops for volunteers on issue advocacy.• From an original goal of passing the resolution in 100 towns, the resolution was placed on the ballot in 182 towns and passed in 164.• As a result of the initiative, about 100 NH towns have energy committees.• Met with state opinion leaders and organizations and initiated partnerships to meet Carbon Coalition goals. -
