To source more meals and help end hunger in America, Feeding America has created MealConnect, a technology platform that makes it easier than ever to connect donors with surplus food to their local Feeding America member food banks and their partners. As a member of the Digital Platforms team, I was responsible for creating actionable tasks and user stories for developers by engaging users to fully understand pain points and requirements, identifying trends in user activity to suggest future areas of development focus, assisting in prioritizing development task backlog, designing feedback collection processes, participating in testing features and functions prior to release, and acting as team liaison for business units to ensure a cohesive support experience for internal stakeholders.

Grant writer and grant manager for the 2017 USDA Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP) awarded project "Bridging The Gap In The Local Food Chain." The project is budgeted at $500,000 to address the systemic problem of access to locally produced, simple, clean, healthy, and affordable local food by focusing on food aggregators and processors as the key agent of change.In this contract role, I was responsible for submission and management of a federal grant application for client. Involves project management of the grant project team, creating accounts necessary for submission of grant materials and acceptance of grant funds, management of project plan for timely submission of the grant, creation and submission of all grant materials, including all supplemental documents.

Gardeneers is a non-profit focused on cultivating customized school garden programs in Chicagoland. In this role, I was hired as a Project manager for a CRM and Accounting system assessment and implementation. This role included documenting requirements for software systems, comparing solutions against requirements, designing processes, configurations, and integration points needed for system deployment, and training and support for Executive Director and leadership team.

Hired on contract by Farmer's Fridge, a food business creating fresh, handcrafted salads & snacks, for a software systems assessment. In this role, I worked collaboratively with stakeholders to document business processes and requirements across operating units, identified current systems and integration points, collaborated with system vendors to demo functionality to key leadership, and presented a final systems recommendation to align with business operations and organizational budget. The assessment concluded in selecting Oracle NetSuite, where I initially served as Project Manager for the overall design, installation, integration, and training before transitioning the role to new a full-time internal resource.

Switchgrass Spirits is a start-up distillery operation that hired me on contract for business and strategic planning. In this role I created a business plan with go-to-market sales strategy, organizational structure, and marketing research, a working financial model with multi-year budget, expenses, and revenue, and a project plan with key timelines and milestones and issue and risk tracking.

In 2014, Local Foods launched a new Chicago facility to support their wholesale, retail, butcher, and back-office operations and hired me as a contract Project Manager for a technology system selection, implementation, and integration project across their operations. This involved first creating a project plan, budget, and systems roadmap for executive leadership as well as a design of Local Foods' business processes and workflows for each business unit and how they interact. For retail operations, I implemented the Catapult (ECRS) POS system and Instacart on-line delivery platform at Local Foods'​ new flagship retail store, including software, hardware, and integration with wholesale and accounting systems.For Local Foods'​ wholesale distribution business, I upgraded them from QuickBooks to Entrée (NECS), a food supply chain ERP system that’s helped to automate the integration of inventory management, sales, warehouse, shipping, hardware, and accounting systems.To tie the two systems together, I migrated Local Foods from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Enterprise, allowing the organization to integrate retail, wholesale, butcher, payroll, and bill payment solutions.

As Director of Programs for Plant Chicago, I was responsible for operations of a growing non-profit with 4 program areas, a staff of 7 employees, and a yearly budget of $250,000. To help expand the organization, I raised new funding through federal USDA grants, corporate and foundation grants, and fundraising events and public activities, including the Chicago Architecture Foundation's Open House, with over 3,000 attendees over two days. I also reorganized the non-profit's program areas to support interns, volunteerism, education, marketing, and direct producer-to-consumer sales, implemented a new CRM system to track donor contributions, and created the organizations first financial reports and budget, giving the Plant Chicago Board critical insight into the organization's operations and challenges.

As part of Accenture's consulting workforce, I worked on large scale technology transformations, including software delivery and IT process improvement. In multiple roles, I was responsible for managing off- and on-shore project teams to deliver application releases on time and for tracking project timelines, deliverables, and overall project scope. In software delivery roles, I designed new application features and managed transition of designs to development teams for completeness and conformance to design, created software guidance for project teams based on user feedback, and provided training and enablement sessions for users.As part of IT process improvement, I built financial models with input from technology and financials teams and created enhanced business processes around Capacity, Release, Vendor, and Configuration Management, reducing delivery time and eliminating redundancies.
