Performing STI, ABR, UTI, Strep testing on patient samples. Assisting with setting up laboratory in the urgent care, such as validations and quality control/assurance.

I help to take care of all of the plants in the greenhouse on campus. I also assist with planting garden areas around campus and provide general maintenance of the greenhouse.

I collaborate with a team of other Graduate Assistants and professors within the Biology department to help teach an Introductory Biology course for Non-Majors. I connect with other students to serve not only as a teacher but as a mentor to assist students on their college journey.I also work as a tutor within the writing center on campus to assist with formatting, assignments, and other support for students specifically in Biology and other science areas.

I assisted with taking care of the animals at the Vivarium such as rats, mice, snakes, and a tarantula. I also performed general maintenance of taking care of the Vivarium space.

I worked with a team that performed quality tests of the various products from the manufacturing department to be sold to customers. I worked with multiple assays such as HIV, CMV, HPV, HBV, SARS, and various others to test different products. I followed a standard operating procedure (SOP) for multiple products and analyzed the data to ensure everything was within appropriate guidelines. I was also able to culture various bacteria to test UTI samples using ABR test panels. I first started off as an accessor where I worked in a team to input patient information into an LIM system for tests that were required either for screening for COVID-19 or urinalysis testing. I was able to be promoted within a 90-day period to become a laboratory technician.I, then worked with the technician team to perform DNA/RNA extraction for COVID-19 samples, using qPCR using Quant Studio 7 and 7500 Fast Real-Time qPCR machines. I was interacting with customers to give them the services that they needed for their pets and to sell the services and medications that VIP Petcare sold. I was able to empathize with the customers about their pet's needs and what was going on to build up company relationships and give a positive experience. Whenever there was a problem, I handled it professionally and in a timely manner. I took inventory of all the equipment that was provided to us and gave sale reports after reaching the end of employment day on how the clinics performed. Show less
