About Autumn Mccombs

Some call me a bulldog because I grab on to the task at hand, and take ownership of everything that I do. It fits my personality, but was also my mascot growing up. My next mascot was the Boilermaker, it fit me too since I'm a Maker of opportunities. I work hard, and appreciate that I have it pretty darn good, sitting in a building, especially compared to the Warfighters I support.I come from a long line of Veterans. When something needs to happen to support our troops and others say "no", I say: "There's a way to make this happen, let's get it done". I'm not bragging when I say I have always reached the objective. My track record of building & improving programs comes from my ability to communicate with all levels of coworkers and leaders: from GS6-GS15s; enlisted to CO; Task Managers & Technicians to SES & HQ representatives. I work well with legal, finance, comptroller, and department heads because of my ability to draft concise correspondence, as well as the ability to insert levity in to face to face communication. The groups and people that I work with know that I am open & honest. I own my flaws and failures just as much as I own my successes. I work with integrity and a sense of urgency - while maintaining the ability to have fun while doing so.I excel at building relationships and teams. My teams know what the goal is, they know why the goal is important, they also know that in order to succeed, everyone must shine. Life is too serious and hard on its own, without adding hardship at work. I believe that with hard work, humility, good communication, integrity, & grace that there isn't anything at work that can't be accomplished, we all just need to be understanding that we are all human. We all have our personal battles, work should be a place to build something great, not create unnecessary roadblocks or hardships.I believe the above has helped me over my 12 years of building partnerships. I bring my Bulldog & Maker attitudes to every task I take. With this spirit, I make connections, build partnerships, and facilitate communications across organizations.

I am the Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding Support Agreements (SAs) at NSWC Crane. I lead Customer and Financial Management Teams that consist of program/project/financial analysts, as well as Customer Advocates and upper levels of executive leadership, to drive documentation of intergovernmental relationships in order to ensure compliance with directives & policies, and to link funding, contracting actions, workload, and deliverables to sponsors/suppliers. This involves educating internal and external stakeholders about the governing authorities; learning about external stakeholder policies and procedures; and communicating efficiently and effectively across all levels of government organizations from Task Managers to Commanding Officers/SES’. I routinely interface with points of contact in order to clearly and concisely communicate the need, effectiveness, and value of the program(s) that I have built and maintained. Modes of communication include verbal, written, power point, informal presentation, and formal presentations. My programs have been named best practices, and have been adopted by other government agency offices.Daily Communication Experience: GS06-GS15s; Enlisted and Officers; SES and Headquarter Representatives.
