At the National Center for Lesbian Rights, I led the charge towards enhanced strategy and efficacy, using data-driven decisions to allow staff to act decisively in the face of a fast-changing legal landscape. I oversaw all analysis and development operations, to ensure we met development best practices for stewardship, compliance, and online marketing. Overall, I motivated my team and larger development department to hone our strategy and better achieve our organizational goals.

At the YMCA of San Francisco, I was the in-house expert on development operations and Raiser’s Edge. I created policies and audits to ensure all users were compliant with HIPAA and FASB guidelines, and I worked closely with the CFO and COO to ensure accountability among all remote offices. I helped 40 users deepen their understanding of the software through a combination of web-based and classroom trainings, extensive documentation, and on-on-one sessions. However, the most fulfilling part of my job was managing 3 full-time staff. Through this role, I was able to quadruple the amount of Raisers Edge support for branch staff, while supporting the career development of my team.

During my 4 year tenure at Heller Consulting, I was a business process consultant managing complex Raiser’s Edge conversions, implementations, mergers and system streamlinings. I analyzed staffing and job roles to ensure that nonprofits were using their limited resources effectively. Specifically, I was involved in several projects increasing efficiency between headquarters and their many remote offices. I ensured the technology was consistent and promoted transparency, while discussing the larger issues of staff and task duplication. Additionally, my skills as a project manager allowed me to steward change through a combination of diplomacy, open communication, and an understanding of the broad project goals.
