Upperline Financial Planning merged into The Planning Center Sept 2017.

• Provide direct support services to 130+ alumni currently in high school• Manage professional relationships with 50+ high schools that served KIPP alumni in Dallas and the surrounding areas• Plan and lead weekly after-school tutoring programming where student attendance was voluntary, but the program persisted to serve over 50% of alumni population• Plan and lead monthly parent meetings on topics of financial aid, college wishlist creation, high school success for grades 9-12, and matched savings opportunities within the community• Provide regular one-on-one or group counseling to students and crisis intervention as needed• Conduct regular assessments of current and emerging student needs• Identify and cultivate internal and external resources and services• Build partnerships with community organizations• Be an advocate for the student and family• Coordinate services for students with complex needs• Completed home and/or school visits for all students on caseload twice per year at minimum• Develop manuals, protocols, and procedures for volunteer initiatives with alumni• Track and share alumni information, while maintaining appropriate student confidentiality through daily use and maintenance of Salesforce• Maintain alumni database with report cards, contact info, and any other relevant information• Plan and execute annual Back to School Bash for all recent 8th grade KIPP alumni graduates in network• Assist alumni with transferring schools when necessary• Coordinate group parent meetings to discuss the alumni services available to their student• When applicable, ensure that all parents complete financial aid forms in a timely manner• Facilitate communication between parents and their children’s schools• Maintain contact with teachers, counselors, and administration at the high schools to facilitate the tracking of student’s progress and the monitor and improve their high school experience

Coached a new cohort Teach for America teachers during their summer training to aid in preparation of them each having their own classrooms.

Taught 1st grade at a free, public, college preparatory charter school which strives to provide an excellent education to students in low-income areas. Guided students to set and achieve dreams that moved them toward lives with economic stability and choice. Expected excellence from ourselves and our students.

Spearheaded the annual Run 4 Recovery, developed recognition in the community, attended and presented at local business meetings, advertised services and solicited support in local community

Met 1-on-1 with a 2nd grade student weekly. Reviewed academic, social, and emotional progress each week and set goals together. Spoke his language of preference during our interactions, which toggled between English and Spanish. Attended many critical moments such as behavior meetings with principal, recess difficulties, and award days to keep our bond strong. Brought student to Whitman College's annual Mentee to Campus day where he got to see where I go to school and talk with other mentee-mentor pairs.
