Direct Care worker for mentally handicapped and physically handicapped individuals in a variety of ages. Was able to work with housemate’s from two different households within the agency to continue to perform their activities of daily living with assistance. Have gained responsibility of learning and preparing foods specifically for the housemate’s diets, monitor their behavior, personal care, and physical therapy plans. Developed great time management skills while performing household chores and helping the individuals with their needs. Trained Medicator for medications given by both oral and MIC-KEY sites while obtaining knowledge of taking care of G-Tubes, Nebulizers and Traches. Have learned great leadership and communication skills while working with the individuals and staff from two very different houses within the agency.

Responsible for greeting patients, filling, and marking off exercises patients had performed as well as demonstrating new exercises for patients. Gained knowledge of performing modalities such as electrical stimulation, and ultra sound, giving patients hot and cold packs. Was able to use knowledge gained from classes in real life situations such as educating patients on why they do the exercises they do and how their beneficial to them.
