The American Dream praises people who spend every waking moment being productive, effective, and innovative to achieve success. My art explores the interplay between work and rest and invites the viewer to find a balance - to cultivate a habit of deep reflection and appreciation, rejecting the constant restlessness of our culture. My work often depicts humans in repose, conveying relaxation and reflection through rich texture, vivid colors, and bold line work. I use a variety of media on canvas and paper, often starting with collaged vintage advertisements, maps, and newspapers, following with spray paint, acrylics, and finishing with oil paint. Show less
