I have worked in the non-profit sector for twenty years. Over the last ten years, I have held leadership positions for small non-profits with budgets from $250,000 to $2M. Currently, I am the Executive Director of International House of Metrolina, Inc. (IH) helping immigrants and international culture thrive. Since joining IH in June of 2020, the organization has grown from a staff of 10 with a $1M budget to a staff of 21 with a $2M budget. My area of expertise is building brand equity through public relations, communications, and fundraising. I have led both staff and volunteer teams of five to 400, and have a successful track record of internal and external capacity building focused on change management, talent development, board governance, and fundraising strategies. A visionary, my colleagues have described my leadership style as dynamic, strategic, and gracious. I don’t shy away from challenges, and believe in taking healthy risks to promote organizational growth. I strive to be a linchpin for my team; empowering them to be innovative and entrepreneurial in their efforts. I hold a BS from Indiana University in Education, and an MS in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. As a professional coach and Certified Fund Raising Executive, I seek opportunities to mentor and educate new fundraisers, board members, and non-profit staff who find themselves raising money as part of the “other duties assigned” clause. My pastimes include reading books on non-profit leadership, marketing, and change management. My husband, Stephen, and I seek the mountains and seas for hiking trails with our two dogs.
