I started my college career as an education major. After a few basic education classes, I knew this would not be a fit for the rest of my career. The education department did however lead me to my love for human interaction. I knew I did not want to be a teacher, but I also wanted to work closely with people. The HDFS track allowed me to explore many careers that fit this category. I hope to find a job in healthcare. I want to work closely with my peers and coworkers for a better cause. I have a passion for fundraising, caring, building, and making a difference. My spark of interest in working in the healthcare field came when I did my internship at Hartford Pre-K Magnet. Here I worked in a preschool classroom. Again, although I did not pursue my education career, I found my passion for helping others. I knew that I could make a difference for these children. This continued with me and now I hope to implement it in my future work.Working 30+ hours a week while being a college student taught me other qualities that I will bring to my future work. I learned time management, discipline, and organization. I am eager to use these skills along with my passion for human success and fundraising towards my future job.
