Completed an asynchronous internship with the main goal of writing a literature review manuscript while being mentored by UNC undergraduate students a part of the QUEST program. I was given the topic of wildfire smoke and its effects on environmental justice and wrote a ten-page research paper. I received great, positive feedback from both my mentors and the faculty working in the lab.

Participated in a summer internship for high school students interested in public health by working closely with UNC undergraduate students, PhD students, and faculty. Additionally, I attended a variety of lectures in all aspects of environmental science, as well as completed wet lab work to evaluate the effects of gene expression when arsenic is exposed to placental cells. I experimented with micropipetting resulting in an R-squared value of 0.999, demonstrating both precision and accuracy.
