Assistant Collection Manager
Guest Lecturer
I have delivered several lectures titled, ‘Documentation Reflections: The Reality of Documentation in Museums and Galleries,’ to the MA (Art Museum and Gallery Studies) course. These lectures engage students with the realities of cataloguing, address institutional processes, and explore the implications of documentation for information creation, preservation and loss. My sessions encourage critical thinking and equip students with the tools to be informed users and makers of documentation. Some topics covered within these lectures include: ethics, the evolution of documentation, institutional infrastructure, industry standards and guidance, and the object as documentation.
Inventory Coordinator
In this role I designed primary and other procedures in accordance with SPECTRUM 5.0 and 5.1, and managed volunteers to complete a full collections inventory. I created protocols for collections activities including identifying hazards, inventory, object handling, object movement, packing and storage. I also trained and managed volunteers to undertake these procedures. This project was motivated by the Palace’s move to a digital CMS (Modes), and as such I designed the inventory to be fully compatible with Modes in preparation for upload. Because of the institution’s upcoming reaccreditation, my involvement extended beyond inventory to other documentation planning. In this capacity I created or contributed to internal policy and guidance on digitisation, rights management, location ID and control, and emergency salvage
Collections Volunteer
In this role I helped to enhance the cataloguing and care of the collection held at Fulham Palace. My work included: inventory and documentation tasks, preventive and remedial conservation (cleaning, condition and conservation tasks and reporting, environmental data downloads and analysis), object packing and handling and public engagement (writing blogs and assisting with lecture/demo events)
Conservation And Collections Care Volunteer
At Leighton House and 18 Stafford Terrace I completed extensive preventive collections care as well as the planning and execution of IPM (Integrated Pest Management) solutions. My work here included, object handling, cleaning, conservation (both preventive and some remedial care), collections packing and storage as well as documentation on an individual and policy level
