Exploring community participation in corporate social responsibility projects in India.

I was working on the bilateral and multilateral partnerships of India in the sector of health. The work comprised of making concept notes, speeches for Minister and officers, and organizing meetings by coordinating with various departments.

Completed my M.Phil thesis on: Changing organisational practices of corporate and NGOs in mandated CSR: An Institutional perspective.

DB Tech, a network of Don Bosco 400+ skill training centres, attempts to bridge the widening divide between those who have access to opportunities and those who are increasingly being marginalized from the ‘new economy’ jobs. DB Tech addresses this endemic problem with a market-based approach that is sensitive to the socio-economic needs of marginalized youth in the 18-35 years age group. I am handling partnership & linkages vertical for the organisation and work to build partnerships with the Corporate and Government sector to partner with the organisation. This can be a funding partnership, knowledge partnership, etc. I have made proposals and worked on tenders and got skill training projects for the organisationI am also looking after the Project Operations and implementing the projects at ground with State Teams. This requires planning the implementation, deciding the timelines, targets, sectors and domains, recruiting the trainers, and then do the end to end process from mobilization to post placement tracking.

National CSR Hub is established in Tata Institute of Social Sciences by department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India. This is an attempt by GOI to formalise the CSR in India by bringing seriousness in Central Public Sector Enterprises towards their CSR activities. We, at the NCSR Hub, are engaged in various activities for CPSUs which are Baseline Survey, Need Assessment Study, Impact Assessment Study, Evaluation Study, Proposal Evaluation Study;Empanelment of organisations to execute the projects, and Training and Competency Building. I, since beginning of my job, work with research profile and have conducted Baseline Surveys, Need Assessment studies for Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (Thal, Maharatshtra), Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Nalgonda), Northern Coalfields Ltd.(Singrauli & Sonbhadra), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (37 locations) and Impact Assessment Study for HPCL at 15 locations. I have a team of 8 Programme Officers to work with me on different projects. Documentation is also one of the main responsibilities of my job and I have worked on reports of all the projects mentioned above.

Working as a TSG member for KSHEC to develop their Higher Education Plan for the coming eight years to get funding under RUSA, MHRD.

Prepared Report Structure, Data Analysis, Interpretation and Report on All India Survey on Higher Education, 2010-11 with the Director of Statistics Division of MHRD

Baseline Survey in rural and urban areas is one of my specialized area. This includes tasks like budgeting for the study, secondary research, designing methodology, sampling, data collection strategy, data analysis and interpretation and report writing. Another major area of specialization is Social Impact Assessment of social development projects.
