Throughout my early career, I have gained experience in both healthcare and community service, developing my leadership skills, building client relations, and exploring my passions. At 18, I began working as an Autopsy Assistant. There I assisted with over 120 forensic autopsies. This role challenged me with emotionally difficult situations and allowed me to demonstrate high levels of maturity and responsibility at a young age. It taught me resilience, precision, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Most importantly, I was excited to return and work hard each day.Building on this experience, I transitioned to working at a local, family-owned mortuary as an Interim Funeral Director. In this role, I developed my interpersonal and organizational skills by leading funerals, coordinating with clergy and international consulates, and comforting families during times of profound grief. I gained unique skills in assisting with cremations and embalming. This job required an advanced understanding of care and empathy, further fueling my commitment to healthcare.Along with my healthcare work, I have been an active volunteer with the Community Action Partnership (CAP) for four years. I began in social media, creating personalized content to increase awareness and donor engagement. Since then, I have broadened my role to work with programs such as the Foster Grandparents initiative and the Christmas Toy Drive. My work at CAP was centered on everyone’s right to access economic stability. While I was a student, I also helped as a Peer Tutor at Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Cooper Center, specializing in biochemistry, cellular biology, writing, and organic chemistry. Tutoring allowed me to develop valuable teaching skills and a strong grasp of scientific concepts while supporting fellow students.I have taken on leadership roles with the Tri-Beta Biology Honor Society, where, as the Historian, I organized biology-related speakers and increased club participation. My passion for learning and science extended to my role as a member of the Pre-Health Club, where I learned about different medical fields, furthering my aspirations in healthcare.Through these experiences, I have developed strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and community engagement. I am passionate about continuing to make a positive impact, whether in healthcare, community service, or leadership roles, and I am excited to explore new opportunities that align with my values and skills.
