Ally Varady has worked in New York’s construction and development industry for more than a decade. In her early years, Varady managed the design, permitting and build-out of the Meyer Davis-designed restaurant, “Vaucluse,” on New York’s Upper East Side, plus the simultaneous construction of Club Monaco’s 5th Avenue and Soho flagship stores, the residences at 280 Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn, and Cookfox’s 301 E 50th Street luxury condominiums.Since co-founding CV Partners in 2016, Varady has managed numerous developments with a focus on new building technologies. Varady oversaw the development of New York City’s first modular hotel, The Pod Hotel in Brooklyn. In this capacity, she worked closely with the construction manager to oversee the fabrication of modular hotel rooms in Poland, while simultaneously coordinating the conventional construction team. In addition to managing this extensive coordination and permitting effort, Varady oversaw FF&E design and installation, as well as operations preparation for both the hotel and food and beverage program. In addition to her experience with modular building, Varady has played an integral role in the development of New York City’s first Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) residential building in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. She was intimately involved in all aspects of design, permitting, and construction oversight, including the city’s first residential implementation of CLT and Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) structure, a Passive House heating and cooling system, and a substantial Solar Panel system with future battery backup and sub-metered energy distribution. CV Partners is currently overseeing the development of its 20,000-sf sister building near the Brooklyn Navy Yard, also to be constructed of CLT.Some of Varady’s other initiatives include the design and renovation of Mah Ze Dahr bakery’s second and third NYC locations (Midtown East and Brookfield Place), as well as the ground-up construction of a 260,000-sf mixed-use condominium in Hell’s Kitchen, designed by Amsterdam’s Concrete Architects, which boasts a rooftop pool, greenhouse, commercial kitchen, dog park, rooftop field, and multiple brand partnerships. She also managed the David Kleinberg designed private residence on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, a BKSK and Workstead development in Williamsburg, and the transformation of the Jacob Riis Bathhouse into an extensive hotel and event destination, in partnership with the National Parks Department.
