As lead data scientist, I am responsible of using machine learning and advance analytics in order to build new product features. These features harvest valuable business insights from supply chain data acquired by our customers using our logger. Some of my main achievements and tasks so far are:- Development and deployment of forecasting model to predict parcel temperature conditions during shipment. The goal is to notify customers if temperature sensitive parcels are likely to be damaged due to weather conditions and if so to suggest additional packing or shipment dates to prevent this from happening. - Development and deployment of accelerometer based classification model for identifying a parcels transport mode at different moments of time. This feature allows our customer to identify and solve points of failure in their supply chains in order to increase compliance and reduce financial risks. - Define workflows and methodologies in order to facilitate agile and reproducible research that can reliably be translated into products. This is achieved by introducing cooperative workflows involving peer to peer review of code, results and documentation as well as multilayer model validation.- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure for the data science team as well as implement ETL pipelines to keep data sets up to date.

- Develop and optimize machine learning algorithms for fertility related predictions and detection based on daily physiological signals acquired by a wearable device during the night.- Develop and implement the architecture and communication scheme for the company’s NoSQL (MongoDB) databases. The databases I designed are the ones currently used for production and research purposes.- Develop of a cloud storage and SparkSQL interface for efficient access and processing of large amounts of data.- Act as an interphase between software development and the data science teams.- Perform statistical analysis of clinical data and power analysis for future tests.- Supervise and assist highly qualified interns (PhD and master’s graduates).

Insight Lounge is my own consulting and data analysis company. My responsibilities are to acquire new clients, propose possible solutions to their needs, implement these ideas and present relevant results.Relevant Projects:- Anomalous activity detection at Caru AG, Zurich Switzerland. At Caru, I develop a prototype algorithm for detecting anomalous activity at households based on IoT sensor data and people’s historical activity. The algorithm is based in Recurrent Neural Networks and anomaly detection techniques.- Burst detection in football wearables with Tracktics AG, Zurich Switzerland. I developed an algorithm - based on accelerometer sensor data to detect and count the number of high intensity movements football players experience in a game. This algorithm is currently running in the Tracktics production app.- Statistical model for optimization of web ads with Navfox AG, Pfäffikon Zurich. I developed a statistical model based on AB test results in order to optimize the key word position in content web ads. - Bayesian credit card fraud detector with Netero, Inc. Dallas, Texas. Based on the company’s transaction data, I developed an algorithm to automatically classify incoming transactions as being fraudulent or legitimate.

- Management, design, execution and interpretation of Scientific experiments and projects.- Develop and measured a new type of Carbon nanotube sample. This was done in order to determine whether or not Carbon Nanotubes are intrinsically good quantum emitters. - Developed MATLAB-automated data acquisition solution using real-time data analysis algorithms to identify and report relevant events.- Qualitative and quantitative analysis of data using MATLAB routines to clean, fit and analyze large amounts of data, as well as for visualizing relevant parameters.
