I am a member and was selected to be part of the highly-selective (application/interview-based) New York Youth Symphony MTS songwriting program. Through this opportunity, I have worked with acclaimed artists such as Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once in this Island), Alex Lacamore (Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen), Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, Jagged Little Pill), etc. I have been able to collaborate with several other musicians and gain exposure to writing in a larger breadth of genres, among many other skills. Through this program, I perform at annual NYC cabaret, gain skills in regards to song lyric/development of a musical theater story, further abilities in music composition and arranging, gain exposure to music publishing and production, collaborate with other youth artists and performers, learn from current musical theater artists about their career trajectories and gain insight about the "professional musical theater world" (NYYS website), partake in feedback exchange, and contribute to a collaborative, vast community.
