About Avdo Hanjalic

As a Principal Software Engineer at Avdaga, I lead the SmartLine program (Industry 4.0) for a client with operational machinery on all continents. I am responsible for the system's scope and delivery, ensuring the satisfaction of end-users, system integrators, and upper management.Previously, at AOS, I played a key role in delivering several distributed AI/field-robotics systems to the Australian Defence Force, involving several millions of dollars. I built and led three multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed teams (with ten dedicated members and several postdocs and contractors). In 2016 I moved to Australia to take on new challenges, both professionally and personally. Before that, I was based in the Netherlands and led (since 2006) three teams consisting of seven people to design, develop, and maintain several software/hardware systems (embedded, cloud, proprietary ERP, net/sysadmin). Simultaneously, I completed my Master's degree in Computer Science with an average score of 89% (GPA: 4.0).

Established a generic software infrastructure for the aforementioned devices and implemented their control software. Field-tested, demonstrated, and deployed iOPFOR.• As a result of various demonstrations over the last 4 years, the project funding was continued. 20 Units of the Interface Box have been operational since 2017 and 40 more will be produced in 2021. The HeadMount is currently being iterated for production. Initial Operational Capability of iOPFOR is expected in 21H1 (due to pandemic-related travel restrictions).
