I worked in food service as a "runner" taking the proper food to its respective tables. I worked heavily through the summers while not at college. At this workplace, I was taught great team skills as well as leadership, cleanliness, and customer service. After working there for some time, I was able to help newer employees in learning the job. In summer 2017 it was common that I would train new runners. I was able to communicate with my managers well. I was on time for every shift, and I would often stay behind to work later if needed. As a fast-paced job, I was able to also gain time management skills as well as becoming more task oriented in order to finish tasks more quickly.

West Michigan And Northern Indiana

I worked as a day camp counselor for SpringHill, where I learned vital communication and teaching skills. My campers were between 5 and 10 years old, and were each given several opportunities to do physical and mental/emotional exercises during the week, with a counselor's help and guidance along the way. I respectfully facilitated conversations of faith with the campers and my coworkers, and I cared for their daily needs in any way that I could. Here I learned how to properly use an EpiPen for children with severe allergies. I also learned group work values as well as team encouragement and physical health values.
