I was the Head Coach of the University of Alabama's Men's Basketball Team for 4 years. We made it to the NCAA Tournament in our 2017-2018 season and the NIT in the 2015, 2016 and 2018 seasons.

I rejoined ESPN as a Sports Analyst for 2 seasons. I was a series regular on NBA Coast to Coast, NBA Countdown, and Sports Center. I was also a guest speaker on Mike & Mike, Pardon the Interruption and Highly Questionable.

I was the first head coach during the Nets rebuilding phase. We moved the team from Newark to Brooklyn in 2012. I was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for October and November following an 11-4 start to the season.

I began the 2004-5 season as an assistant coach with Dallas after retiring as a player on October 28, 2004. I was appointed head coach of the Mavericks in March of 2005. We finished the season 16-2 and I earned Western Conference Coach of the Month honors for April. In my first full season as a coach, I led the team to a 60-22 record and the team's first ever Western Conference Championship. I was named Western Conference Coach of the month in November of 2005, becoming the first coach in league history to win the award in my first two full months of coaching. The following season, I guided the team to an NBA best 67 wins in 2006-7 and was named NBA Coach of the Year. I became the fastest coach to reach 150 wins. In my final season in Dallas in 2007-8, I led the team to a 50+ wins for a third straight year, finishing with a record of 51-31. We made the playoffs 4 years in a row and my post season record is 23-24.

I signed with the Seattle SuperSonics as a free agent in 1988. During my career, I changed teams six times and played for a total of 16 years. My longest stint was with the San Antonio Spurs, under Greg Popovich, for 7 years. In 1999, my team lead the Spurs to winning their first championship. My jersey was retired in 2008 in the AT&T Center.
