Hello, I am Avery. I am a motivated sophomore student studying professional accountancy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. My education has cultivated my interest in analyzing business situations with the collected data and making business strategies. I would like to pursue my career in positions related to accounting in the future.In order to enrich my insight in the ever-changing business world and equip myself with more expertise, I try to search for different opportunities. In 2020, I joined the HKICPA Business Case Competition. I had to make a proposal with my teammates to tackle the problems that the company was facing. I focused on analyzing the business situations with financial ratios and decided the appropriate approach to get the funding. I was still a freshman at that time and I was courageous to participate in this case competition as it was such a golden opportunity to broaden my horizons and practice my case solving skills.In 2021, I joined the Livi Bank case competition. It required me and my teammates to think a series of promotional strategies with the launch of the virtual bank—Livi Bank to raise the number of users. I was responsible for finding out the trend of using online payment platforms and virtual bank in recent years so I designed questionnaire and aggregated the data I got. I formulated the innovative promotional strategies with my teammates by analyzing the wants and needs of different people from the questionnaire. At the final, my team collaborated to give a fluent presentation and we were impressed to be praised by the judges. This experience helped me strengthen my strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, time management skills and also communication skills as I learned how to develop coherent strategies to solve a problem under this fast-changing business world with working with others under a time limit.I have been actively seeking opportunities to gain practical experience and exposure to improve myself and pursue my career goals. Currently, I am looking for summer intern to pursue accounting-related career and enhance my professional skills.
