About Avery Luck

Choosing to study to become a teacher was an easy decision for me. Ever since I was an elementary school student, I was engaged and excited with the lessons my teachers prepared for my class and me. I saw how much they cared about my academic success and my wellbeing as a person. From these moments at school and these interactions with my teachers, I knew that this was what I wanted to do with my life. With every year I attended school, each and every teacher reinforced my beliefs about my dream of becoming a teacher.I have learned what it takes to be a teacher, including but not limited to the planning, hard work and dedication, and the importance of knowing your students. My teaching career has been marked by a passion for supporting students on their individualized learning experiences. I continually strive to be the best teacher that I can be and want to meet the needs of all students. I believe in the importance of using research-based, differentiated and multi-sensory learning experiences to support a diverse group of learners. I value diagnostic-prescriptive teaching and capitalizing on the strengths of the students. I support challenging all students academically and celebrating their successes. I have learned that respecting the learning pace of the student and teaching with the whole child in mind, encouraging guided discovery and fostering exploration through learning, are key to supporting a child’s growth and social-emotional development.I am grateful for the experiences that I have had and can confidently say that teaching is one of the most important jobs in the world. My passion for education has strengthened with the work that I have completed. Through reflection I have learned to improve aspects of my planning and have worked to create more effective lesson plans that meet the needs of my students. I cannot wait to keep learning and make a positive impact for my future students and for the field of education.
